Colum Bastable
President & Chief Executive Officer, Cushman & Wakefield LePage Inc.
Colum Bastable has served as a trustee since August 2010. Mr. Bastable joined Royal LePage Limited in 1976 as Vice President, Finance. In 1981, he became Chief Financial Officer and in 1987 became Executive Vice President responsible for all of Royal LePage's commercial operations. In 1993, Mr. Bastable was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Royal LePage Limited and Managing Partner, Commercial Real Estate Services, Brascan Corp. In 2005, he became President and Chief Executive Officer of Cushman & Wakefield LePage Inc. He is also a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Cushman & Wakefield Inc.
Thomas F. Farley
President and Global Chief Operating Officer, Brookfield Office Properties Inc.
Tom Farley was appointed Chairman of the Board of Trustees and named President and Chief Operating Officer of Brookfield Office Properties in 2011. He had been Chief Executive Officer of Brookfield Canada Office Properties and its predecessor company, BPO Properties, since 2004. Affiliated with the company since 1993, Mr. Farley has held positions in various senior management roles, most recently as Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Farley has been involved with several major property acquisitions including Bankers Hall, Petro Canada Centre and Fifth Avenue Place in Calgary. Tom holds a CRF designation from the Real Estate Institute of Canada and a degree from the University of Victoria.
Roderick D. Fraser, Ph.D., O.C.
President Emeritus, University of Alberta
Roderick D. Fraser has served as a trustee since August 2010. Mr Fraser was President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Alberta 1995-2005; held various positions at Queen’s University in Kingston including Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Science and Vice-Principal (Resources); is an Officer of the Order of Canada; a Director, Canada-US Fulbright Program and Aga Khan University. Mr. Fraser was awarded Order of the Rising Sun, Japan, in 2006.
Dennis H. Friedrich
Chief Executive Officer, Brookfield Office Properties Inc.
Dennis Friedrich has served as a trustee since 2012 and is currently Chief Executive Officer of Brookfield Office Properties Inc.
Previously, he was
President and Global Chief Investment Officer, and prior to that head of U.S. Commercial Operations for the firm.
Prior to joining Brookfield, Dennis was co-head of
Jones Lang LaSalle's tenant advisory practice in New York. He holds a
business degree in finance from Baruch College in New York City and is a member of the
Real Estate Board of New York.
Paul D. McFarlane
Paul McFarlane has served as a trustee since August 2010. Mr. McFarlane retired from CIBC in 2002 after more than 40 years of service in numerous branch, regional and head office positions, most recently as Senior Vice President, Special Loans Head Office, from 1994 until retirement.
Susan L. Riddell Rose
President and Chief Executive Officer, Perpetual Energy Inc.
Susan Rose has served as a trustee since April 2013. With over 25 years of experience in the Canadian oil and natural gas industry, she began her career as a geological engineer with Shell Canada. Ms. Riddell Rose was employed with Paramount Resources Ltd. from 1990-2002 where she served in various capacities, culminating in the position of Chief Operating Officer. She is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta, the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and is a Governor of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers. Ms. Riddell Rose graduated from Queen's University with a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering.
Jan Sucharda
President and Chief Executive Officer, Brookfield Canada Office Properties
Jan Sucharda has served as a trustee since June 2011. He was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Brookfield Canada Office Properties in 2011; prior to that position he was President and Chief Operating Officer.
Prior to these positions, he was Senior Vice President, Investments – responsible for overseeing acquisition and disposition initiatives and arranging various forms of financing. Prior to that, Jan was Senior Vice President, Asset Management, with O&Y Properties and O&Y REIT. In addition, Jan has held positions in underwriting, restructuring and asset management with a major financial institution and project management with a Toronto-based construction management company. Jan has an engineering degree from Queen’s University and an MBA from York University.
